Online Jobs For Filipinos

7 Benefits of Working From Home for Filipinos

Working from home fits a certain personality.

Since 2016, I’ve been in this setting, and I’ve surely had my fair share of hurdles.

For starters, my first few clients were nothing but online wolves that immediately pulled a Houdini on me after I turned in my work.

Then there’s the problem of not being a self-starter, to the lack of quality colleague relations I’d otherwise have in an office, to the dilemma of partitioning my home and work life when I’m just a few steps away from my family.

But then again, when you decide to work from home, you say ‘ciao’ to the following benefits:

  • You can set up a flexible schedule.
  • There’s no dress code in place.
  • You say goodbye to the maddening Manila commute.

And did I already mention the freedom to organize your workspace as you please and legitimate online typing jobs that provide uncapped earning potential?

Now before you ask the usual “May pera ba dyan?” question, below are 7 reasons to start working online jobs at home.

Why Work From Home?

No dress code policy

Before commencing work each day at my humble abode, I try to get myself into a good working mood. This means taking a nice shower and changing into my button-down shirt (or T-shirt) paired with jeans.

It’s important to signal your brain that bedtime’s over and that you’re transitioning to work.

Professional – yet comfortable – clothing helps unleash those ‘feel good’ hormones to power you in taking on online typing jobs free registration for instance.

But of course, you have the utmost freedom to wear whatever does the magic for you. After all, it’s your house! PJs, sando, blouse? Well, even a tapis can work.

Zero commute

Metro Manila – the nation’s capital and the legitimate source of traffic-related frustrations for working commuters.

When you work from home, the only travel you’ll do is your house’s stairs and the slight walk to your workspace.

The time you saved can be spent on better stuff (e.g., doing personalized client pitches, invoicing, or simply an hour of added sleep).

In a way, you also avoid contributing to Philippine pollution by not taking buses and jeepneys.

Flexible working schedule

This may be the most convincing single factor for taking the freelance route.

Because your office never really closes, you can take on home based typing jobs part time, for instance, before dawn or burn the midnight oil.

Typically, such off-times can be productive for you, as you’re done with babysitting and everyone’s already asleep.

Working from home allows you to work at your most comfortable and effective hours.

Another advantage is the versatility of your work area. If you want time away from your usual home station, you can opt for park bleachers, coffee shops, diners, or coworking spaces.

If you know a friend who also works from home, why not ask if you can come over to wrap up some work? More often than not, you’ll come home satisfied with the brainstorming sessions you did together and the enthusiasm that just rubbed off on you!

When I was starting, I found these 12 alternative workplaces enumerated by Due extremely helpful.

Better health

Let’s admit it: it’s chaos in the office. Everyone’s so caught up with their daily objectives that even taking short breaks may be frowned upon.

When you work at home, you can strike a balance between toiling and exercising.

You don’t need permission from anyone.

For instance, you can hit the treadmill before starting an online typing job daily payment that’s guaranteed. Or you may take a short walk when you feel loaded.

No one’s going to condemn you from taking physical and mental breaks.

With all the flexitime you have, you can easily accomplish all these 10 quick workouts.

At home, you’ll also make better food choices since the kitchen is just a few floor tiles away. Just make sure to fill your cart with nourishing and beneficial foods.

Needless to say, you’re not pressed for time (i.e., a one-hour lunch break) to buy unhealthy, on-the-go foods allowing you to protect your health.

More money & better opportunities

In the form of savings through the absence of office rent, equipment depreciation, utilities, and supplies expense.

It’s a win-win for you and the company, as part of the excess money may be reallocated to you and other virtual staff in the form of performance bonuses, perks, appraisals, etc.

Just don’t be too blunt asking for those.

More time for personal life

You obviously want more time with your kids, your partner, and your friends. I mean, who doesn’t, right?

More time with them is one of the benefits of working from home for Filipinos that you can’t put a price tag on.

Lunches with friends and spouse, watching kiddie programs with your youngster can be done without breaking a sweat.

Of course, you’re still expected by your company to report about your progress and to work on your deliverables at certain times of the day, but squeezing out quality time now becomes more manageable and viable.

And did I already mention the time you’ll be spared from not having physical officemates whose birthday celebrations you have to attend?

More money, again

In 2017, Payoneer reported that for freelancers, the global average hourly rate is $19. Most entry-level Filipino freelancers, meanwhile, make around $4-$8 per hour.

Online jobs at home hourly rates easily beat that of an office person, who typically makes less than or a little above P1, 000 on an 8-hour workday.

Foreign clients are even known for being generous enough to fund their employees’ recreational trips and other leisure.

Takeaway

As a wrap-up, working from home has a lot of upsides. Though you may face early obstructions like having very few clients or adjusting your body clock to that of your client’s time zone, it will be worth it in the end.

But what’s really vital before you book typing jobs from home is being a self-starter and having a can-do attitude.
